The supervisor ensures all duties are completed in accordance with company policies and promotes a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Parts Room & Inventory
- Organize, maintain, and keep the parts room clean and orderly.
- Track parts inventory accurately using the Solutions system.
- Ensure all items are properly labeled, stored, and updated in inventory records.
- Add DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) to every bus returning from route.
- Assist drivers with parking by guiding buses safely during backing procedures.
- Report any safety concerns, vehicle damage, or issues noticed during bus return.
- Prepare and send the end-of-shift down list via email to designated recipients.
- Assist the dispatcher with bus assignments for the following day.
- Communicate important operational updates to appropriate departments.
- Conduct a full walk‑around inspection of the facility and yard, ensuring all buses have doors and windows closed, lights are off, water is shut off, and all doors and gates are secured.
- Ensure the building is locked up and fully secured at the end of the shift.
- Follow and enforce all safety procedures and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in fleet, facility, or maintenance operations preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to guide vehicle movements safely.
- Basic proficiency with inventory systems (e.g., Solutions) is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor, including bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions outdoors.
- Evening or night shift.
- Indoor/outdoor environment with exposure to vehicle fumes, weather, and noise.
- Requires walking, bending, lifting parts, and working around large vehicles.
