What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver-Fixed Route position at RATP DEV USA, LLC?
- Operate transit buses safely on prescribed routes as directed. Conduct pre and post trip vehicle inspections and document on appropriate forms.
- Collects/records bus fares, and transfers in accordance with Transit procedures.
- Promote exemplary customer service of GoRaleigh by providing safe, courteous, and dependable service while transporting customers.
- Input information into computer-based equipment such as Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL) Automatic Passenger Counter (APC), fare-box and destination displays (requires touch key entering) as technology exists.
- Able to read and interpret maps and complex schedules and provide route and schedule information to transit customers.
- Assist in the boarding of disable customers who require the aid of accessible vehicles (wheelchairs/scooters) for the purpose of mobility. Involves bending, stooping and twisting while securing belts and straps to ensure the patron and vehicle is tied down in a manner that ensures a safe ride (Ability to push pull wheelchair patrons).
- Operate two-way bus radio system in accordance with the GoRaleigh established policies and procedures and the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).
- Announce major streets, stops and destinations per ADA regulations.
- Adhere to the uniform application of the Labor Agreement, Performance Code, Safety Procedures and Operational Bulletins.
- Requires prolong sitting while driving/operating transit bus. Includes reaching above head to adjust mirrors and destination signs during pre-trip inspection
