Breakfast Attendant

The Breakfast Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive and enjoyable dining experience for hotel guests at the Fairfield By Marriott in San Marcos. This position primarily involves setting up, maintaining, and replenishing the breakfast buffet, ensuring cleanliness and organization, and providing exceptional customer service to guests. The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for creating a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere in the breakfast area, and for assisting guests with any inquiries or requests related to the breakfast service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain the breakfast buffet:
  • Arrange food items, beverages, utensils, and condiments in an appealing and organized manner.
  • Ensure all food items are fresh, properly labeled, and within expiration dates.
  • Monitor food levels and replenish as necessary to ensure availability throughout the breakfast service.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene:
  • Regularly clean and sanitize all surfaces, including tables, counters, and food service equipment.
  • Keep the dining area tidy and free from clutter.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and guidelines, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service:
  • Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements if necessary.
  • Offer assistance and answer questions regarding the breakfast offerings, dietary restrictions, and food allergies.
  • Ensure guests' needs are met promptly and courteously, addressing any concerns or special requests.
• Monitor and restock supplies:
  • Keep an inventory of food, beverages, and supplies required for breakfast service.
  • Notify the appropriate department when supplies are running low, and assist with restocking as needed.
• Collaborate with the kitchen staff and other hotel departments:
  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of food and beverages.
  • Communicate any guest feedback or special requests to the relevant departments to enhance guest satisfaction.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel services and amenities:
  • Stay informed about hotel facilities, events, and promotions to provide accurate information to guests.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy trays or equipment as required.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as per the hotel's operational needs.
