What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Administrator position at Rapiscan?
We are looking for a HR Administrator to join our team! This individual will provide a myriad of administrative responsibilities for the Torrance, CA and Andover, MA facilities including, but not limited to, the following: Coordinate & process onboarding and offboarding, support administrative processes related to HR, maintaining accurate electronic and physical records, and with HR related programs, under the guidance of the HR Business Partner, supports employee or labor relations matters under the guidance of management, is a liaison between employees and benefits team and support worker’s comp activity. This individual must be familiar with state and federal employment laws and must be very organized and able to thrive in a multi-project, multiple-priority atmosphere. Focus is on high quality customer service and responsiveness to employee needs. Will also work with multiple software applications including enterprise wide systems, and intranet/ internet applications.
- Coordinate & process onboarding and offboarding, support administrative processes related to HR, maintaining accurate electronic and physical records, and assist with HR related programs. Focus is on high quality customer service and responsiveness to employee needs.
- Support the organization, as part of the HR Team, regarding HR matters such as policies/procedures, information sharing, HR processes, participation in projects and initiatives. Provide input on process improvement.
- Investigate and address employee complaints in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the benefits team and HR Business Partner on IRPs, LOAs and Worker’s Comp Matters.
- Conduct regular and temporary employee terminations including exit interviews. Complete all unemployment requests.
- Provide Torrance reception area support, covering receptionist breaks and occasional absences. Ensure smooth operations and compliance with the Visitor Access Policy including ID badge processing and key card coordination in the absence of the Receptionist.
- Coordinate employee activities (luncheons, holiday party, retirement parties, etc).
- Be the liaison between management and the Talent Acquisition team for requisition requests.
- Regular and ad-hoc reporting as needed to support the HR team with all department needs.

- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field required. Years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 1 years of HR experience in a fast paced environment desired.
- Familiar with California employment laws, LOA’s and IRPs.
- Knowledge of Global HRIS applications.
- Proficient in business applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead projects, known for achieving critical objectives.
- Detailed oriented person that acts with a sense of urgency.
- Works well with data and performing detailed analysis of employee data.
- Ability to communicate effectively using several modes of communication including face-to-face presentations and email and phone etiquette.
- Demonstrates an upbeat and positive attitude toward job responsibilities and the accomplishment of critical business objectives.
