QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred
Experience with Career and Technical education
Three years successful teaching experience
REPORTS TO: Superintendent or his/her designee
SUPERVISES: Such staff as the Superintendent may designate
JOB GOAL: To provide leadership for maintaining, improving, expanding and developing
learning opportunities for youth through vocational education programs
TERM: Twelve Months
SALARY: Supervisor/Coordinator Salary Schedule
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. To assist school level administrators in coordinating the duties of the vocational education
supervisors
II. To promote, maintain, improve, develop and evaluate the vocational education program
III. To supervise vocational education personnel
IV. To monitor the supervision of vocational education instruction
V. To ensure compliance with Title IX and LHSAA
VI. To monitor vocational education in an effort to comply with minimum standards for
vocational education as set by the State Department of Education
VII. To comply with state and federal policies and procedures for vocational education
VIII. To coordinate, compile and submit records and reports as required by the State Department of Education
IX. To coordinate the development and writing of the annual local plan and submit to
the State Department of Education
X. To maintain proper financial and statistical vocational education records at system level
XI. To compile and submit to the State Department system level financial
reimbursement reports
XII. To manage proper allocations and use of all vocational education funds with proper
consideration for changes and expansion of programs
XIII. To monitor the ordering and purchasing of equipment and supplies for use in vocational
education
XIV. To monitor the vocational education budget at the system level
XV. To maintain a system-level comprehensive vocational education equipment inventory
XVI. To establish and maintain a local advisory council for vocational education, for monitoring the effectiveness of the council and for reviewing membership composition to assure fair representation
XVII. To provide leadership and administrative support for all vocational student organizations as an integral part of instruction
XVIII. To promote involvement of vocational education personnel in training and assisting in the planning, developing, and implementing of in-service training at the system level
XIX. To participate in the assessment and evaluation of the total vocational education program at the system level by gathering, analyzing, and compiling evaluation data
XX. To promote development of curriculum materials and research activities
XXI. To maintain updated information on enrollment in vocational education
XXII. To make on-site supervisory visits as a means of gathering data and making
recommendations
XXIII. To develop and disseminate local guidelines and procedures and/or policies regarding
vocational education
XXIV. To promote vocational education through public relation activities and by positively
relating to people
XXV. To act as liaison between local school system and State Department of Education
XXVI. To establish and execute a professional growth and self-evaluation plan
XXVII. To work effectively with school personnel and staff
XXVIII. To consistently demonstrate self-direction
XXIX. To submit accurate records and reports promptly
XXX. To exhibit professional ethics
XXXI. To foster open communication and positive relationships with school personnel and
