This is a full-time, on-site role for a New York Labor Law Claims Examiner based in Short Hills, NJ. The Claims Examiner will be responsible for overseeing and managing New York labor law claims from inception to resolution. Daily tasks include investigating claims, evaluating liability, determining coverage, coordinating with attorneys, managing settlements, and ensuring compliance with state-specific labor laws and company standards. The role also requires maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders involved.
- Strong knowledge of New York labor laws and legal regulations relating to claims
- Experience with claims investigation, liability assessment, and settlement negotiation
- Proficient in case management, documentation, and policy interpretation
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Prior experience in a similar role or within the insurance/claims industry is highly preferred
