Overview
Ranor, Inc is a large-scale fabrication and machining supplier. Our current focus is on defense-related products in support of Navy submarine components.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Quality Documentation Specialist to support receipt inspection and document control activities within our precision machining environment. This role is responsible for managing the full documentation lifecycle, including reviewing incoming materials against customer requirements, preparing and issuing complete work packages to the manufacturing shop floor, and validating completed documentation returned from production.
The position serves as a critical link between engineering, quality, and manufacturing, ensuring that all material, inspection, and process documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant at every stage, supporting full traceability and audit readiness in a regulated defense environment.
Duties Include
Receipt Inspection
- Review incoming parts, materials, and certifications against customer requirements, purchase orders, and engineering specifications
- Document results on Receiving Inspection Reports
- Verify accuracy and completeness of material certifications and traceability documentation
- Identify and report discrepancies or non-conformances
Document Control
- Assist in document control activities, ensuring proper handling and control of quality records
- Receive documentation from engineering and prepare complete work packages for release to the manufacturing shop floor
Documentation Collection & Validation
- Collect completed documentation packages returned from the manufacturing floor
- Review for accuracy, completeness, and required signoffs
- Verify that all manufacturing steps, inspections, and corrections have been properly documented
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory standards
Compliance & Traceability
- Maintain full material and process traceability from receipt through final documentation
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records and documentation systems
- Support internal and external audits as required

Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred
- 2 years of experience in quality, inspection, or document control within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T knowledge a plus)
- Experience with material certifications, traceability, and quality documentation systems
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, or similar quality systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems and/or document control systems
- Effective communication skills across cross-functional teams
- U.S. Citizenship (required for government defense contracts and ITAR compliance)
