Position Overview:

Rangefront Mining Services is seeking Exploration Field Mappers to support an active summer exploration drilling program in Alaska. This is a seasonal, fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) position running from July through the end of August, offering a unique opportunity to work at a remote exploration camp in a rugged and scenic Alaskan setting.

The Exploration Field Mappers will work closely with project geologists to collect high-quality geological data that supports targeting, interpretation, and project advancement.

• Conduct hands-on geology in a rugged, scenic wilderness environment
• Short-term summer contract ideal for experienced mappers between projects or students completing summer fieldwork

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed geological mapping, including lithology, structure, alteration, and mineralization.
• Collect rock, soil, and structural data following established sampling and QA/QC procedures.
• Accurately record field observations using field notebooks, tablets, GPS, and mapping software.
• Assist with reconnaissance mapping and target generation.
• Communicate geological observations and interpretations to project geologists.
• Support geochemical sampling programs as needed.
• Maintain field equipment and ensure data is properly organized and submitted.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and site-specific policies at all times.
• Perform additional field or logistical duties as assigned by project leadership.

Qualifications:

• Education: B.S. in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related earth science field (or enrollment in an accredited program).
• Prior geological mapping or fieldwork experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic field geology principles and mapping techniques.
• Ability to work long hours outdoors in variable weather and rugged terrain.
• Physically capable of hiking and carrying field gear for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data recording skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a field-based team.
• Experience with GPS, GIS, or digital mapping tools preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
