Specimen Technician/Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist
Shift: Tuesday–Saturday | 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM (2nd Shift)
Pay Rate: $19/hr - $21/hr
Job Summary
We are seeking a Specimen Technician/Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist to support daily laboratory operations by performing routine specimen processing, laboratory preparation, equipment maintenance, and quality support activities. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to laboratory safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and process laboratory specimens.
- Prepare specimens for testing, including aliquoting, slide preparation, inoculation, and worklist creation.
- Perform centrifugation, specimen storage, retrieval, and label preparation.
- Prepare laboratory reagents and media.
- Perform routine instrument maintenance and QA/QC activities.
- Resolve pending specimen lists and locate missing samples.
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation.
- Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous waste.
- Follow PPE requirements, laboratory safety procedures, and competency training.
- Operate laboratory computer systems and support general laboratory operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math and science knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to follow SOPs and safety procedures.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
