Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency with MS Excel/Google Sheet
- 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare billing or accounts role preferred
- Knowledge of medical billing procedures and healthcare insurance processes is preferred, but not mandatory.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in billing software and office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).

Responsibilities
Medical Billing and Payments:
- Handle patient payments and accurately post them to corresponding accounts.
- Examine patient accounts for correctness and resolve inconsistencies.
- Confirm insurance coverage and address any discrepancies that arise.
- Create and distribute patient invoices along with detailed statements.
- Utilize Excel efficiently - must be comfortable in Excel and Google Sheets
Insurance and Claims:
- Monitor and follow up on insurance claims, including denied or rejected claims and appeals.
- Collaborate with insurance providers and patients to ensure prompt claim resolution.
- Supply necessary documentation and support to guarantee claims are processed properly.
Customer Service:
- Respond to patient questions regarding billing, insurance, and account status through phone, email, or in-person interactions.
- Guide patients in establishing payment plans and clarify billing policies.
- Manage and resolve complaints or escalated billing concerns in a professional manner.
Account Reconciliation:
- Regularly review patient accounts to maintain accuracy.
- Investigate and reconcile payment differences and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Ensure all accounts are managed according to facility procedures and regulatory standards.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate and submit reports on accounts receivable and billing activity.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of patient accounts and billing transactions.
