Full-Time Staff Attorney - Memphis, TN
Mission: Fight for immigrant rights, dignity, and inclusion through legal representation and systemic advocacy, especially for marginalized individuals.
Role: Provide direct legal representation to immigrants in administrative (USCIS), removal (Memphis Immigration Court/EOIR), and federal appellate proceedings. Identify issues for litigation and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities: Manage an active caseload, screen clients, supervise staff/volunteers, maintain records, collaborate on strategy, engage with partners, conduct educational programs, and support fundraising.
Qualifications: JD, admission to practice law, 2 years of relevant legal experience, and prior experience with immigrant/vulnerable populations (preferred). Strong legal, communication, and management skills. Spanish proficiency is preferred, but not required.
Salary: Starts at $65,000, commensurate with experience ( $3,000 for Spanish fluency). Excellent benefits include health insurance, generous PTO, SIMPLE IRA match, and federal loan forgiveness eligibility.
