Randstad has an immediate opening for a Biologist who brings experience in molecular biology, plant transformation and sequence analysis. This position provides an opportunity to work with a global leader in agricultural research.This is a fully onsite position, located in St. Louis. Local candidates are highly preferred as relocation cost reimbursement is not available for this position.salary: $32 - $35 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 5 PMeducation: BachelorsResponsibilitiesAs the selected candidate, you will use molecular cloning, transient plant transformation, DNA extraction, DNA sample cleanup, and basic sequence analysis to test recombinase variants for activity and specificity. You will need to have hands-on experience in a molecular biology laboratory environment and preferably also with plant tissue culture.Must Haves:BA or BS in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, or related fieldHands-on work in a molecular biology lab (academic or industry)Plant tissue culture experience is highly plusMolecular cloning (restriction/ligation, Gibson assembly, Golden Gate, etc.)DNA extraction and purificationSequence analysis (basic bioinformatics tools like BLAST, CLC Workbench, Geneious)Recombinase TestingUnderstanding of site-specific recombination systems (Cre/lox, FLP/FRT, etc.)The essential functions of this role include:working in a smoke free environmentSkillsMolecular CloningCulturing Plant TissueExtract and Purify DNA DNA Sequence AnalysisPCRExperimental DesignQualificationsYears of experience: 3 yearsExperience level: ExperiencedRandstad is a world leader in matching great people with great companies.
