What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Navigator/Social Worker position at Randolph County?
Description
Provides professional social work services in a public library setting, implementing community-centered services and events that are responsive to the existing and emergent needs of the community, including advice, basic counseling, referral and intervention for residents of all ages who are experiencing social services related needs. Navigates complex social service and human service systems to improve education, empowerment and positive outcomes. Collaborates with and trains library staff to integrate social work services into overall library services; offers training to staff of other agencies and community members.
Minimum Education and Experience
Masters or bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and directly related experience.* masters or bachelor’s degree in counseling in a human services field and directly related experience; master’s degree in library science with certification, coursework or concentration in social work, and directly related experience.
Special Comments
- Full-time position with benefits.
- Position requires travel among Randolph County library branches.
- Tentative schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm with occasional evening and weekend hours for participation in community events.
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, outgoing, community-oriented self-starter, willing to engage with diverse members of the community and facilitate connections with community members and various service organizations throughout Randolph County.
Special Requirements:
- Valid North Carolina Driver's license.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
