Founded in 1987, RAND Engineering & Architecture, DPC is an employee-owned 115 person Manhattan-based firm that designs, specifies, and administers restoration, upgrade, and adaptive re-use programs on behalf of owners, managers, and co-op and condo boards.Job Overview:We are currently seeking a draftsperson for our Structural department. Candidate should be self-motivated, energetic, organized and a team player. Candidate should have the ability to work closely with engineering staff to develop project structural drawings including plans and details and the ability to develop drafting standards with guidance and direction from engineers. Responsibilities:Create detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD softwareCollaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirementsReview and modify existing drawings as necessaryEnsure accuracy and adherence to design specificationsIncorporate feedback and make revisions based on project needsCollaborate with other drafters and team members to ensure consistency and efficiency in drawing productionStay updated on industry trends and advancements in CAD technologyQualifications:2 years minimum drafting experience Degree or course experience in Technical design, Civil Engineering, or similar Architectural program, or equivalent experience preferred Experience with structural drafting in AutoCad and/or Microstation required. Architectural drafting/modeling will be considered Experience with 3D modeling in Revit Structure and/or Bentley Structural Modeler preferred Familiarly with US National CAD Standards (NCS) preferredProven experience as a Drafter or similar roleProficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, etc.)Strong knowledge of structural design principlesFamiliarity with system design conceptsAbility to interpret technical drawings and specificationsAttention to detail and accuracy in drafting workStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesLife at RANDAs an employee-owned business, at RAND, we believe great work starts with great people—and we take care of ours.
