Role Summary:
IDEKO Productions is seeking a full-time Drafter to support our technical production, team. This role will focus on creating 2D CAD event production drawings in Vectorworks for temporary structures, staging, scenic builds, and large-scale activations.
The Drafter will work closely with producers, technical directors, and fabricators to translate concepts into clear, accurate, build-ready drawings used for permitting, fabrication, and on-site execution.
This role requires someone who understands the technical realities of live event production, including staging layouts, audio/video systems, lighting plots, and temporary infrastructure.
This is a hybrid position based in the New York area, with flexibility for remote work depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed Vectorworks drawings for event layouts, staging, scenic builds, and temporary installations
- Produce 2D CAD plans, elevations, sections, and technical details for production and fabrication teams
- Draft audio, video, and lighting, power layouts in coordination with technical production staff
- Prepare build drawings for scenic fabrication and structural elements when required
- Develop site plans, floorplans, and infrastructure drawings for permitting and event planning
- Revise drawings based on feedback from production, fabrication, and engineering teams
- Maintain drawing standards and organized project files across multiple projects
- Assist with technical documentation and project coordination throughout the production process
- Go on site-visits to get accurate measurements.
Desired Skills:
- 3–5 years of experience in live events, experiential marketing, agency project coordination, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Vectorworks (required), familiarity with AutoCAD & SketchUp desired.
- Strong experience creating 2D CAD drawings for events, staging, or temporary installations
- Working knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems used in live event production
- Ability to interpret production specs, scenic concepts, and technical requirements
- Experience producing build drawings for fabrication is a strong plus
- Understanding of temporary structures, staging systems, or scenic construction preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to collaborate with producers, designers, and technical teams in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
