Security Officer (Part-Time - Luxury Retail)

Eastern Janitorial Company is seeking a reliable, high-caliber, and professional Security Officer to provide dedicated access control and loss prevention support for a premier luxury retail boutique located inside The Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, NJ.

In this role, you will serve as a visible, professional deterrent against loss, theft, and unauthorized access while maintaining a welcoming, high-end environment for boutique shoppers and retail staff. You will monitor store entry points, assist retail staff with daily security awareness, respond to site incidents, and uphold company and client policies. Daily Responsibilities

• Boutique Access & Visibility: Stand post near the boutique entrance to maintain a clean, visible, and alert security presence that deters theft and unauthorized behavior.
• Loss Prevention Support: Observe store traffic, identify suspicious activity, and collaborate with store employees and mall management security when issues arise.
• Customer Greeting & Professionalism: Politely greet incoming retail guests, offer directional assistance, and represent both Eastern Janitorial and the client brand with a polished presentation.
• Incident De-escalation & Reporting: Handle security alerts, customer disputes, or shoplifting concerns calmly and professionally; complete daily activity logs and incident reports as needed.
• Emergency Preparedness: Follow site emergency protocols, medical escalation routes, and mall security procedures during unexpected events or store closing procedures.

Qualifications Needed

• Valid NJ SORA License: Must possess an active New Jersey SORA License (Mandatory).
• Schedule Alignment: Must be fully available to work the exact 28-hour schedule outlined above (Thursday–Monday, including weekends).
• Commute: Reliable transportation to The Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, NJ.
• Communication Skills: Fluent in English with strong verbal communication skills for guest interactions, store management updates, and incident reporting.
• Professional Presentation: Neat, sharp, and clean professional appearance suitable for a luxury retail store setting.
• Physical Capability: Ability to stand and remain alert on post for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Experience: Previous security, high-end retail loss prevention, or customer service experience preferred.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
