About the Role
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Maintenance Porter to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of a commercial property in Asbury Park, NJ. This role combines janitorial duties with light building maintenance and basic repairs.
Note: This position is stationary on-site and does not require driving.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Janitorial & Cleaning: Perform general cleaning of common areas, restrooms, hallways, offices, entrances, sidewalks, and exterior grounds (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal).
- Light Maintenance & Repairs: Perform minor repairs, including touch-up painting, wall patching, replacing light bulbs, assembling/moving furniture, and basic plumbing fixes (unclogging drains/toilets, addressing minor leaks).
- Facility Support: Respond promptly to work orders, set up rooms/common areas as requested, keep tools and supplies organized, and assist with seasonal snow/ice removal when needed.
- Safety & Inspections: Inspect the property daily to report safety hazards or larger maintenance issues to management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Hands-on experience in janitorial work, basic building maintenance, and using common hand/power tools.
- Language & Communication: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy to manage work order systems and track inventory.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, and lift/carry up to 75 lbs.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Location: Candidates residing near Asbury Park, NJ preferred.
