Purpose:

Responsible for design of tools used for RAMCO in-house manufacturing product and related support, including creating and managing drawings, simulation of manufacturing processes, writing manuals, operator support, assist troubleshooting for those manufacturing processes. These manufacturing processes include, but are not limited to, forming, tapping, locking, and automated assembly of components.

Essential Responsibilities and Functions:

• Interpret part specification requirements and work with QC and RAMCO Manufacturing in the development of in-process part inspection drawings at appropriate manufacturing steps.
• Support QC in conduct product in-process dimensional or feature capability studies, as needed.
• Support effort to reduce production costs by optimizing tool design and part progression sequences and contribute to monthly summary reporting of this effort.
• Support the quote process by assessing feasibility and tool costs for in-house manufacturing steps
• Specify incoming raw material requirements for use in-house manufacturing
• Participate in customer presentations covering RAMCO manufacturing processes, as needed
• Participate in supporting QC with root cause analysis and resolution for defects that result in internal or external customer concerns or NCR’s.
• Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Has responsibility for following personal and departmental requirements of Quality Assurance systems and programs, including compliance with their requirements, are satisfied.

Required Qualifications

Experience:       3 years fastener cold forming tool design experience. Automotive industry and/or previous fastener experience desirable.

Education:         Four year Degree (Engineering or technical preferred)
