What are the responsibilities and job description for the ENGINEERING INTERN position at RAMCO SPECIALTIES INC?
Summary: Ramco Specialties is currently searching for an Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2021 to assist the department as the company grows and drives continual improvement through the organization. Assignments will be catered to the interns understanding of engineering principles depending on his/her coursework.

Essential Responsibilities and Functions:
- Assisting staff engineers on Continual Improvement Projects supporting tasks as assigned.
- Drafting of Product, Tooling, or Equipment and Facility layouts. Modifying existing drawings working within the parameters of the company’s Engineering Change Control procedures.
- Conducting Product Testing of performance-based product. Documenting test results and reacting when product falls below specification.
- Providing regular project and task status updates to Engineering Manager and to Top Management when necessary. Status updates may be through email, project management software, or PowerPoint as appropriate.
- Behaving in a safe and professional manner at all times. Maintaining a cooperative attitude toward other employees and keep a mind-set that always considers the best long-term interests of the company.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications:
The following qualifications are preferred; equivalent experience will be considered; on-the-job or external training will be provided to address weak areas:
- Enrolled in and pursuing a 4-year technical degree from an accredited program.
- Experience with 3D modeling software, such as AutoCAD Inventor
- Strong Mathematical skills and basic understanding of statistical concepts (Normal distribution, SPC)
- Able to routinely interact with other company departments in a professional manner.
- Proficient in MS-Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

The Engineering Intern position will split his/her time between the office and production floor. In the office, the intern will be provided a desk and computer. The intern will be expected to maintain a clean and organized work area. Dress is business casual. On the production floor the noise level is usually moderate/ occasionally loud. While on the production floor, the intern will be required to follow safety requirements and have safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety-toed shoes.
