As we continue to grow, we’re expanding our IT team and seeking a Systems Administrator (Level III) to help support, secure, and advance our technology infrastructure.
About the Role
The System Administrator oversees and maintains the core IT infrastructure for Raleigh Medical Group and its affiliated clinics. This position is responsible for managing servers, networks, cloud platforms, and security systems, while ensuring system availability, performance, and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
The System Administrator works closely with the IT Director and Support Engineer/Analyst to design, implement, and support enterprise systems; drive technology improvements; and provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex issues.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain servers, storage, and virtualization environments (Windows Server or Azure Virtual Machines).
- Manage Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, and related cloud integrations.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure (switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless systems).
- Implement and maintain system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal cybersecurity standards, including access control and encryption policies.
- Administer firewalls, endpoint security, and multi-factor authentication systems.
- Maintain system performance monitoring, patch management, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate on infrastructure and security projects — network refreshes, migrations, and upgrades.
- Document network configurations, system architectures, and administrative procedures.
- Serve as Tier 3 escalation for complex incidents beyond the Support Engineer level.
- Assist with vendor management and procurement of IT hardware, software, and services.
- Participate in strategic planning for technology improvements and lifecycle management.
- Other duties and projects are assigned by the IT Director.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT systems administration or network infrastructure support.
- Experience managing Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and Windows Server environments.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience in healthcare IT or HIPAA-regulated environments.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security , Microsoft Certified: Systems Administrator, Azure Administrator, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Cisco, Aruba, and UniFi network equipment, and Veeam or similar backup solutions.
