Position Overview
The Medical Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, answering multi-line phones, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate demographic and insurance information. This role works closely with other receptionists and clinical staff and includes cross-training with check-out responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:45 PM
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing a warm and professional greeting
- Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately
- Answer multi-line phones and schedule appointments
- Collect copayments and verify insurance information
- Enter and update patient demographics and insurance data in the EHR
- Scan and manage patient records within the electronic medical record system
- Coordinate with providers and staff to support smooth office flow
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards
- Keep the front desk and lobby area organized and professional
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical or office setting preferred
- Prior front desk or receptionist experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with EHR systems and basic computer skills
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- Friendly, professional, and patient-focused demeanor
