Job Description: Department Overview The EC Marketplace Development (ECMPD) Department is a core technology division within Commerce & Marketing Company, Rakuten Group, Inc. Position: Position Details As a Project Manager at Rakuten Ichiba, you will lead the delivery of new features and improvements for our leading e-commerce platform. You'll work with various teams to define project goals, manage execution, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. Your role is crucial in enhancing the Rakuten Ichiba experience and supporting our business growth through effective project leadership. Responsibilities - Project Planning: Define project goals, scope, and deliverables by working closely with business owners, product managers, and technical teams. - Team & Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate clear communication and effective teamwork within the project team and with all external stakeholders. - Execution & Delivery: Oversee project execution to ensure it stays on schedule, within budget, and meets quality standards. - Risk Management: Proactively monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement solutions to keep the project on track. - Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on status, risks, and progress. - Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage the project budget, tracking expenses and optimizing resource use. - Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the QA team to ensure all project deliverables are thoroughly tested and meet quality requirements. Mandatory Qualifications: - 3 years of experience in project management as the main project manager, with a focus on software platform development. - Proven track record of successfully launching and managing complex software development projects. - Knowledge of software technologies, e.g., e-commerce, microservices, APIs, CMS systems, payment gateways, search engines. - Experience with SDLC. - Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence. Desired Qualifications: - PMP or other relevant project management certification is a plus. - Experience as a Software Developer. - Product Management Knowledge. - Experience in the production operation of an internet service. - Experience in working directly with software engineers, product managers, and business partners.
