Pay Rate: $21.42/hour on W2
Work Type: Onsite - Avon, OH 44011
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Duration: 3-month contract (with possible extension/conversion)
Job Overview:
- The Laboratory Technician plays a critical role in evaluating and ensuring compliance with the facility’s waste analysis plan.
- This position is responsible for performing onsite laboratory testing, determining acceptable waste streams, and collaborating closely with operations to ensure proper processing.
- The role is held to high standards of quality and safety as part of the facility operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calibrate all laboratory equipment each morning.
- Analyze and document all incoming samples (hard copy and computer system)
- Perform bench studies (treatability) on each incoming load, including new samples.
- Analyze materials received and compare results to established profiles.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, including GC, ICP, BTU, and Flash testing equipment.
- Evaluate new samples to determine treatability.
- Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment.
- Assist with laboratory projects that improve cost, quality, efficiency, or processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid state driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hand tools, hand trucks, and forklifts.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Experience working with both non-hazardous and hazardous waste.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to work consistently in various weather conditions.
Safety Requirements:
- Safety shoes required
- Long-sleeve shirts and long-sleeve pants required.
