Job Summary
Rainforest Cafe is seeking a friendly, dependable, and hardworking Food Service Worker to support daily restaurant and food-service operations. The ideal candidate will assist with food and beverage preparation, order service, cleanliness, restocking, and general restaurant duties while helping create a welcoming experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service
- Assist with preparing and serving food and beverages according to restaurant standards
- Take and process food and beverage orders accurately
- Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments
- Assist with basic food preparation, portioning, and presentation
- Prepare service areas and ensure food and beverage items are ready for service
- Maintain clean and organized dining, counter, kitchen, and service areas
- Clean and sanitize utensils, equipment, counters, and food-preparation areas
- Restock food, beverages, condiments, packaging, and other restaurant supplies
- Clear and reset tables as needed
- Answer guest questions about menu items and available options
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Support servers, kitchen staff, and other team members during busy periods
- Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties
- Report equipment issues, supply shortages, or safety concerns to management
- Perform additional food-service duties assigned by management
Requirements
- Previous food service, restaurant, hospitality, or retail experience preferred but not required
- Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Good attention to cleanliness, accuracy, and detail
- Basic POS and cash-handling knowledge is a plus
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform routine physical tasks for extended periods
