JOB SUMMARY
The Community Engagement Director plays a key leadership role in advancing the mission and strategic goals of Rainbow Village. This position is responsible for developing and sustaining donor relationships, leading the Women’s Giving Circle (WGC) strategy, enhancing public awareness through strategic communication, overseeing community engagement and development operations, and expanding the organization’s annual giving program. The Director ensures cohesive execution of engagement efforts across internal teams, external stakeholders, and donor audiences.
Core Responsibilities
Donor Development & Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors and prospects through direct engagement and networking events (DBA, Gwinnett Chairmen Club, GLOW).
- Organize and implement non-solicitation campus tours to introduce new individuals to the mission of Rainbow Village.
- Develop and manage a communication strategy tailored to donor segments based on giving levels.
- Collaborate with the Development Coordinator to maintain a prospective donor pipeline in Salesforce.
- Lead sponsorship outreach and solicitation for all major organizational events.
Women’s Giving Circle (WGC) Strategy
- Plan and execute social/awareness events, volunteer events, and the annual WGC Award Ceremony.
- Create and implement a year-round retention and engagement strategy for WGC members.
- Secure WGC Award Ceremony sponsors.
- Recruit WGC committee members to support strategic growth and implementation of WGC initiatives.
Communications & Public Awareness
- Develop a quarterly editorial content calendar across all communication channels.
- Conduct monthly analysis of communication performance metrics and refine strategies accordingly.
- Increase the use of original photos of staff, board, and clients to reduce reliance on stock imagery and elevate authenticity in visual storytelling.
Community Engagement Team Leadership
- Lead monthly team meetings to promote alignment, communication, and problem-solving.
- Conduct quarterly one-on-one assessments and performance reviews, aligned with individual KPIs.
- Oversee team schedules and ensure balanced workload distribution.
- Serve as the liaison between the community engagement team and senior leadership.
- Provide hands-on guidance and support for project execution and daily activities.
Annual Giving Program Growth
- Revamp recurring giving campaign to increase donor participation and average gift amount.
- Develop and execute a donor communication plan to guide first-time donors through the giving pipeline.
- Create and implement a year-end giving strategy targeting new and returning donors from previous campaigns.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5 years of experience in nonprofit development, community engagement, or donor relations.
- Demonstrated experience in managing strategic initiatives, donor cultivation, and event planning.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and data-driven donor strategies.
- Passion for and commitment to the mission of Rainbow Village.
Working Conditions
- Some evening and weekend work required for events and meetings.
- Occasional local travel for community engagement activities.
