Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused Non-Emergency Driver to transport medically fragile and developmentally delayed children to and from our Pediatric Prescribed Extended Care (PPEC) center. The ideal candidate will ensure safe transportation while providing excellent customer service to families and maintaining compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely transport pediatric patients to and from the PPEC center according to assigned routes and schedules.
- Assist children with entering and exiting the vehicle safely, including proper use of wheelchair lifts, safety restraints, and car seats as required.
- Ensure all children are secured appropriately before transport.
- Maintain ongoing communication with transportation staff and center personnel regarding route changes, delays, or concerns.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned vehicles.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company transportation policies.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and documentation as required.
- Demonstrate professionalism and provide courteous interactions with patients, families, and staff.
- Observe and immediately report any concerns involving patient safety, health status, or behavior during transport.
- Follow confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines at all times.
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of driving experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Must pass background screening, drug screening, and driving record review.
