What are the responsibilities and job description for the Horticultural Specialist position at Raimondi Horticultural Group?
The Horticultural Service Technician is responsible for maintaining interiorscape accounts assigned to their care. On a structured schedule and within an allotted time frame, the technician maintains interior foliage plants by using accepted horticultural techniques.
Regular servicing includes:
· Watering and fertilizing all plants as necessary.
· Keeping all plants cleaned, trimmed and oriented to proper light.
· Removing any damaged or unsightly foliage.
· Removing debris from planters and maintaining planters in a neat and orderly manner.
· Preventing damage to surrounding floors, walls and furniture from water and/or moisture.
· Keeping all plants free from disease and insects.
· Maintaining staging and top dressing for proper presentation.
Horticultural Service Technicians must have a reliable personal vehicle available each work day for transportation to the accounts. Vehicle liability insurance and a valid drivers license are to be in place at all times. Mileage compensation will be provided.
Essential Functions of the Job
Must be able to lift 10 lb. water buckets and/or load and unload 40-50 lb. water machines occasionally. Must be able to climb ladders and have good dexterous use of both hands. Must be able to use scissors, pruners, hand saws, hoses and other small tools. Must be able to apply soap and water using hand-held pump sprayers.
Must have a satisfactory safe driving record. Must be able to professionally communicate with clients and have a neat and clean appearance.
This is strenuous work requiring good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and the ability to work in varying greenhouse and/or office conditions.
General Administrative Responsibilities
· Attendance at regular training sessions.
· Proper documentation of work orders, service records and route cards.
· Timely requests for replacement plants.
· Timely communication to supervisor regarding account problems or concerns.
· Friendly, professional communication with client contact.
· Proper maintenance and safe use of company tools, equipment and vehicles.
