Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented and reliable Horticultural Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in cleaning and sanitation within food production or manufacturing environments. This role is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our horticultural facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of horticultural equipment and facilities to ensure a safe working environment.
- Comply with company bio-security plans, food safety requirements, quality assurance standards (GMP, HACCP, FSI, SQF, etc.), and standard operating procedures related to all sanitation and facility tasks.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in food processing areas, adhering to strict hygiene protocols.
- Actively participate in meetings, training, and education. Assist with training other employees and providing backup as a team memeber.
- Utilize cleaning and sanitizing tools to maintain sanitary conditions in harvest and packing areas without equipment damage, downtime, or safety incidents, in accordance with established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all cleaning activities.
- Safe and proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment, which includes using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and assisting with the identification and reporting of safety, area, and equipment issues requiring non-routine attention.
- Assisting in seeding, transplanting, harvesting plants and packaging produce
- Consistently come to work on time and maintain work schedules
Requirements
- Positive attitude
- Physically fit, able to lift 40lbs.
- Maintain reliable attendance.
- Able to work in Cold, Humid and Wet environment
- Previous indoor farming experience is a plus, providing insight into the operational aspects of the facility.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
