Job Summary:
The Assistant Program Manager supports planning and coordination of program activities within the Strategic Consulting division. This role assists the Program Manager with tracking schedules, progress, budgets, documentation, and communication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in tracking project schedules and deliverables
- Maintain a consistent list of both inbound and active projects
- Support development of program documentation
- Coordinate communication across teams
- Help monitor budgets and forecasts
- Support preparation of presentations and correspondence
- Assist with organizing program meetings
- Contribute to process improvements
- Support compliance with FRA, AREMA, and internal standards
- Other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Superlative organizational and time management skills
- Good communication skills
- Familiarity with project management tools
- Basic understanding of rail industry a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiar with Salesforce and NetSuite
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 2–4 years of project coordination or support experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience in engineering, transportation, or consulting
- Exposure to rail projects preferred
- Participation in AREMA is a plus

- Other Strategic Consulting team members
- Engineering Department team members
External Relationships
- Subcontractors under guidance
Work Environment
- This position operates primarily in an office environment but may include occasional visits to job sites
Physical Demands
- Must be able to drive long distances and travel by other modes of transportation, as necessary
- Must be able to stand for long periods and able to walk on level or uneven ground for prolonged periods
Travel
- Minimal travel is expected for this position (~5%)
