What You’ll Do:
- Design and documentation of sprinkler and standpipe systems including wet, dry and gaseous fire suppression systems. CAD drafting and design (2D and 3D), code research, calculations, field work (survey/measuring), and client interface is required.
- Prepare code-compliant fire sprinkler designs for commercial and residential buildings.
- Prepare CAD shop drawings and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, clients and jurisdictional authorities.
- Perform and understand Hydraulic Calculations.
- Accurately design fire protection systems while meeting deadlines.
- Review work orders and procedural manuals to determine parameters of design.
- Convert design concept to constructible design.
- Submit designs for approval.
Who We Are Looking For:
For Experienced Candidates:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with AutoCAD (required for experienced-level compensation).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Fire Sprinkler Design (required for experienced-level compensation).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Navisworks, Excel, and Word.
For Entry-Level / No Industry Experience Candidates:
- Recent graduate in Engineering, Fire Protection Design, Construction Management, or a related field (strongly preferred).
- AutoCAD knowledge or coursework experience (required; we will provide industry training).
- Willingness to train and learn fire sprinkler system design.
For All Candidates:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to learn new concepts quickly.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
