Role Overview: The RAE South Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on the manufacturing floor. This role involves coordinating activities, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining high-quality standards, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment. The RAE South Lead acts as a liaison between the production team and management, facilitating communication and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Supervision:
- Provide daily leadership and direction to the production team, ensuring adherence to production schedules.
- Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and conduct training to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and employee engagement.
2. Production Management:
- Oversee the production process, ensuring products are manufactured on time and meet quality standards.
- Coordinate with different departments (e.g., Quality Control, Maintenance, Logistics) to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify and resolve any production issues, such as bottlenecks or equipment malfunctions, to minimize downtime.
3. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes to maintain quality and compliance.
- Implement and monitor corrective actions when quality issues arise.
4. Safety & Compliance:
- Promote and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and report any workplace accidents or safety incidents.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in production processes and workflows.
- Participate in or lead continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects.
- Implement best practices to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
6. Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of production data, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to management.
- Ensure all production-related documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
7. Team Development:
- Assist in the hiring and onboarding of new production employees.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing opportunities for skill development and career growth.
- Address employee concerns and work to resolve conflicts within the team.
Desired Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using manufacturing software and systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Working Environment: The Manufacturing Floor Lead typically works in a factory or industrial setting. The role may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, and varying temperatures. Safety gear such as helmets, gloves, and ear protection is often required.
