Growing proprietary trading firm headquartered in the Chicago suburbs are looking to hire a Senior Trader as part of their next phase of growth.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven record of success in proprietary trading or a similar environment, along with strong quantitative, analytical, and programming capabilities. You will be responsible for developing, executing, and refining trading strategies across global markets.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement profitable trading strategies across various products (energy markets, commodities, futures, options, or equities).
- Manage trading positions, monitor market activity, and ensure adherence to risk limits.
- Conduct research, backtesting, and post-trade analysis to evaluate and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with quantitative researchers, developers, and risk teams to enhance trading systems and infrastructure.
- Identify new market opportunities and adapt strategies to changing market conditions.
- Maintain accurate P&L tracking, position reconciliation, and reporting.
- Communicate effectively with technology, operations, and risk management teams to ensure efficient trade execution.
- Uphold high ethical standards and demonstrate sound judgment in all trading decisions.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, quantitative, or financial discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Finance).
- Minimum of 4 years of professional trading experience, ideally within a proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or similar institution.
- Demonstrated track record of consistent profitability and effective risk management.
- Familiarity with algorithmic or semi-systematic trading strategies.
- Strong understanding of market structure, trading systems, and execution methodologies.
- Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude.
- Experience in python, SQL, VBA etc
- Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to fast-changing market environments.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Compensation is highly competitive and contingent on experience. This is a full-time, predominantly onsite role based in Chicago, IL.
