This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the industry’s newest and most advanced multi-axis laser cutting/drilling machine centers to produce complex high-precision components for commercial and defense aerospace industrial applications. You will work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure parts are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and on schedule. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Experience with Prima Power Laserdyne systems is a must - Fiber laser experience is a plus
• Possess minimum 10 years experience in the field of multi-axis laser cutting for Aerospace industries
• Ability to set up laser machining centers completely and independently 
• Experience laser cutting tight tolerance and complex geometry parts
• Proficient with G&M machine codes and programming structures including subroutines
• Ability to manually write simple-to-medium complexity programs and utilize CAM software such as Autodesk Fusion 360 
• Possess a solid understanding of linear coordinate systems, multi-axis rotations, single/dual rotaries, and offsets 
• Understand laser power parameters including pulse-width, frequency, peak power, average power, Jules, penetration dwell, gas types/pressures
• Familiar with laser drilling including drill-on-the-fly and part mapping
• Experience cutting high temp nickel alloys including Inconel, Hastelloy, Haynes, as well as 300/400 series stainless steels, aluminums, and carbon steels
• Follow complex work instructions in compliance with procedures and specifications
• Troubleshoot machining issues regarding equipment performance, tooling/fixtures fitment, and part tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing using ASME Y14.5 GD&T including true position, bilateral/unilateral profile, runout, flatness, parallelism, etc.
• Inspect to detail drawings or sketches using precision measuring devices
• Evaluate tooling/fixturing performance using precision measurement devices
• Recognize improper machine functioning or cutting and develop procedures for corrective action while adhering to fixed-process requirements
• Possess their own toolbox including simple hand tools and measurement devices
• Perform precise laser beam, beam director, OFC, and camera alignments to obtain machine precision within specification
• Calibrate and troubleshoot issues with Automatic Focus Control - AFC
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance and minor machine repairs
• Provide respectful and constructive feedback regarding process performance while working with engineering, quality, management, and other employees.
• Possess laser safety certification in accordance with LIA/OSHA/ANSI
• Take ownership of performance throughput and quality
• Train other employees as needed and perform all other duties as assigned
• Be a team player that is passionate about their craft

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Preferred 3 years experience 
• Experience with fixed processes and  full understanding of NADCAP Aerospace requirements
