The Overnight Hotel Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for hotel guests, employees, and property throughout the night. The officer monitors the property, responds to incidents, performs regular patrols, and assists guests and staff when needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, observant, professional, and comfortable working independently overnight. They should have good judgment, strong customer-service skills, and the ability to handle security situations calmly and appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol the hotel, parking areas, entrances, hallways, and other assigned areas throughout the overnight shift.
- Monitor security cameras, alarms, and access points.
- Maintain a visible security presence and help prevent theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and disturbances.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest complaints, emergencies, suspicious activity, and security incidents.
- Document incidents, accidents, unusual activity, and security concerns in detailed shift reports.
- Assist with emergency procedures, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, evacuations, and other situations.
- Enforce hotel security policies and procedures.
- Check doors, restricted areas, and other locations to ensure they are properly secured.
- Work closely with the front desk, management, housekeeping, maintenance, and emergency services when necessary.
- Provide courteous assistance to guests while maintaining appropriate security procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding guests, employees, and hotel operations.
- Complete additional security-related duties assigned by hotel management.
