Position Summary:
The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the overnight front desk operations, balancing daily financial transactions, and ensuring the security and safety of the hotel during night hours. This role provides excellent guest service, processes end-of-day reports, and assists in maintaining smooth hotel operations after regular business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service & Front Desk Operations
- Greet, check-in, and check-out guests efficiently and courteously.
- Respond promptly to guest requests, inquiries, and concerns.
- Handle overnight reservations, cancellations, and modifications.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
Audit & Financial Reconciliation
- Complete nightly audit process of all daily transactions and revenue.
- Reconcile and balance hotel accounts including room charges, taxes, cash, credit card payments, and other transactions.
- Generate and distribute daily reports to management and accounting teams.
- Prepare summaries of hotel activity for the day, including occupancy, revenues, and any discrepancies.
Safety & Security
- Respond to emergencies according to hotel procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel emergency protocols and assist as needed.
Administrative & Communication
- Ensure wake-up calls are accurately scheduled and completed.
- Communicate guest feedback and issues to day staff and management.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and lobby area.
Qualifications:
- Previous front desk, accounting, or customer service experience required; hotel night audit experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of hotel property management systems Opera and Toast is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with basic math and accounting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be available to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Light lifting (up to 25 lbs.), bending, reaching, and walking throughout the shift.
Schedule:
Typically 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
