Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Internal AI Platform Engineer / Architect to design and build the internal AI platform and systems infrastructure for a well-established enterprise data security company with over 40 years of industry presence.
This is a hands-on, systems-focused role for someone who can transform complex, real-world workflows into scalable, reliable internal platforms. You will collaborate closely with leadership, domain experts, and knowledge engineering teams to identify opportunities where AI can drive meaningful operational impact and build systems that are dependable in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI orchestration and control-plane infrastructure across business functions
- Build connectors and integrations across tools, workflows, documents, and operational systems
- Develop systems for permissions, tracing, context management, and deployment pipelines
- Create sandboxed environments to test AI systems using real operational data
- Build internal tools that bridge the gap between prototype AI solutions and production-ready systems
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand actual workflows vs. theoretical requirements
- Establish governance, auditability, and safeguards for AI-driven processes
Required Qualifications
- Senior / Staff / Principal / Architect-level engineering experience
- Strong background in backend systems, distributed systems, and integrations
- Proven experience building internal platforms, shared services, or workflow systems
- Hands-on experience using LLMs as development tools in real-world applications
- Strong understanding of deterministic vs. model-driven system design boundaries
- Experience implementing human-in-the-loop systems, escalation paths, and audit controls
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders to translate real operational workflows into systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing integration patterns, APIs, connectors, or context layers
- Background in building AI systems for enterprise operations, security, or compliance-heavy environments
- Experience working with internal business process automation and workflow optimization

- Candidates focused primarily on generic AI/ML feature development
- Experience limited to consumer-facing systems (search, recommendation, e-commerce, etc.)
- Profiles centered around model training, research, or academic projects
- Candidates with primarily prompt engineering, coursework, or hackathon experience
