| JOB SUMMARY |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| The Radiologic Technologist performs Bone Density procedures in an outpatient setting while maintaining a high |
| level of customer service and quality patient care. Responsibilities include performing Bone Density procedures |
| following the protocols established by the radiologist and demonstrating compassion to ensure overall patient |
| satisfaction. |
|

|
| JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 1. Performs Bone Density exams following the protocols established by the radiologist. Competently performs |
| procedures with limited supervision. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 2. Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including protocol, patient history, referring |
| providers, and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 3. Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Assumes |
| responsibility for patient care, safety, and comfort. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 4. Takes responsibility to stock exam rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains equipment and reports any |
| equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 5. Performs other duties as assigned. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 6. Customer Service; Communicates effectively with staff and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner. Promotes |
| teamwork by assisting other staff as needed. Words and actions support team improvement. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 7. Maintains credentials for position. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 2 or more years in the Radiography field is preferred. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| High School Diploma or GED. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Completion of a course in Radiologic Technology which is approved by the American Registry of Radiologic |
| Technologists. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the Florida |
| Department of Health. Additional mammography certification is a plus. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Bilingual English/Spanish speaking skills are preferred. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Skills in properly positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic images, identifying equipment problems, |
| establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching; Must be able to see with or |
| without corrective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly, with or without assistance. This position may require lifting |
| 50 plus pounds. |
