| **Shift Hours will be Thursdays/Fridays 12 hour shifts, and Saturdays/Sundays 8 hour shifts** | ||||||
| JOB SUMMARY | ||||||
| The CT/X-Ray Technologist performs a variety of radiologic procedures in an outpatient setting while maintaining | ||||||
| a high level of customer service and quality patient care. The responsibilities of the CT/X-Ray Technologist include | ||||||
| performing routine X-ray and CT procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist and demonstrating | ||||||
| compassion to ensure overall patient satisfaction. | ||||||
| JOB RESPONSIBILITIES | ||||||
| 1. Performs CT and X-Ray procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist. Competently performs | ||||||
| procedures with limited supervision. | ||||||
| 2. Performs reconstruction process on CTA exams on a separate workstation as necessary. | ||||||
| 3. Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including protocol, patient history, referring | ||||||
| providers, and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure. Able to burn CDs per patient request. | ||||||
| 4. Logs all injections with the amount, date, time, route, and response to injection. Reviews lab results for patients | ||||||
| including BUN and creatnine and calculates GFR as needed. Discusses BUN, creatnine, and GFR abnormalities with | ||||||
| the radiologist to determine if contrast is indicated. | ||||||
| 5. Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Assumes | ||||||
| responsibility for patient care, safety, and comfort. | ||||||
| 6. Takes responsibility to stock exam rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains equipment and reports any equipment | ||||||
| malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider. | ||||||
| 7. Assists in other modalities as assigned. | ||||||
| 8. Customer Service; Communicates effectively with staff and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner. Promotes | ||||||
| teamwork by assisting other staff as needed. Words and actions support team improvement. | ||||||
| 9. Maintains credentials for position. | ||||||
| WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS | ||||||
| 2 or more years in the Radiology field is preferred. | ||||||
| High School Diploma or GED. | ||||||
| Completion of a course in Radiologic Technology which is approved by the American Registry of Radiologic | ||||||
| Technologists. | ||||||
| Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the Florida | ||||||
| Department of Health. Advance certification in CT is preferred. | ||||||
| SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS | ||||||
| Skills in properly positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic images, identifying equipment problems, | ||||||
| establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public. | ||||||
| This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching; Must be able to see with or | ||||||
| without corrective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly, with or without assistance. This position may require lifting | ||||||
| 50 plus pounds. |
