| JOB SUMMARY |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| The X-Ray Technologist performs a variety of radiologic procedures in an outpatient setting while maintaining |
| a high level of customer service and quality patient care. The responsibilities of the X-ray Technologist include |
| performing routine X-Ray procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist and demonstrating |
| compassion to ensure overall patient satisfaction. |

| JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 1. Performs routine X-Ray procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist. Competently |
| performs procedures with limited supervision. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 2. Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including protocol, patient history, referring |
| providers, and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure. Able to burn CDs per |
| patient request. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 3. Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Assumes |
| responsibility for patient care, safety, and comfort. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 4. Takes responsibility to stock exam rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains equipment and reports any |
| equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 5. Floats to various locations when necessary. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 6. Customer Service; Communicates effectively with staff and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner. |
| promotes teamwork by assisting other staff as needed. Words and actions support team improvement. |

|
|
|
|
|
| 7. Maintains credentials for position. |
|
|
|
|

|

|
|
|
| WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| 2 or more years in the Radiology field is preferred. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| High School Diploma or GED. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Completion of a course in Radiologic Technology which is approved by the American Registry of Radiologic |
| Technologists. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the Florida |
| Department of Health. Additional Mammography certification is a plus. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Skills in properly positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic images, identifying equipment problems, |
| establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching; Must be able to see with or without corrective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly, with or without assistance. This position may require lifting 50 plus pounds. |
