Position Summary
We are currently seeking a FT MRI Technologist to join our team at the Twin Lakes Imaging Center in Daytona Beach, FL. This is a great opportunity for a skilled imaging professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding care and accurate diagnostic imaging. You will perform a variety of MRI procedures using 1.5T and 3T equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures
- Clearly explain procedures and address patient concerns
- Verify imaging orders, diagnosis codes, and authorizations
- Ensure compliance with MRI safety protocols
- Operate 1.5T and 3T MRI systems following established protocols
- Administer contrast materials (oral or IV) as required
- Perform image quality checks and documentation
- Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic system
- Conduct weekly ACR quality assurance tasks
- Report equipment malfunctions as needed
- Assist in training new staff and mentoring student technologists
- Provide physical and emotional support to patients
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Graduate of an AMA-approved radiologic technology program
- Minimum 2 years of imaging experience, with at least 1 year in MRI preferred
- Experience with both 1.5T and 3T MRI systems is a plus
Licensure & Certifications:
- Florida-licensed Radiologic Technologist
- ARRT certification in Radiography (RT(R)) or Nuclear Medicine (RT(N))
- ARRT (MR) certification preferred or must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- BLS certification required
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of MRI protocols and cross-sectional anatomy
- Familiarity with PACS and digital imaging systems
- Skilled in IV placement and contrast administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Calm under pressure and capable of handling emergencies
