Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a PRN Echo Sonographer for our Ocala, FL location. This position is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic cardiac echo examinations, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform cardiac echo sonography exams with accuracy and care
Greet patients and explain procedures in a clear, compassionate manner
Use independent judgment to adapt procedures and identify pathologic findings
Ensure image quality meets diagnostic standards
Maintain ultrasound equipment and manage supply inventory
Respond appropriately to emergencies (AED, oxygen use, etc.)
Support occasional evening/Saturday shifts or float to Port Orange and Deltona as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma required
Graduate of an accredited sonography program
Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiac echo sonography
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with AE specialty required
Current BLS certification required
Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echo procedures
Technical proficiency in ultrasound imaging and equipment use
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Ability to lift/move patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
Team-oriented, flexible, and dependable
Work Environment:
Medical office and imaging exam rooms
Exposure to standard clinical hazards (e.g., needles, radiation)
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, patient-facing setting
