Position Overview
Radiology Associates is seeking a Full-Time Call Center Scheduler for a fast-paced outpatient imaging center. This role is critical to the patient experience and requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a solid medical background.
The Scheduler is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while accurately obtaining and entering patient demographic and insurance information into our Radiology Information System (RIS), ensuring timely and efficient exam scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
Receive inbound calls from patients and physician offices to schedule requested imaging exams
Make outbound calls to patients to schedule exams based on faxed or electronic orders
Deliver exceptional customer service while addressing patient inquiries and resolving scheduling issues
Handle non-routine or complex calls requiring independent judgment
Accurately enter and update patient demographic and insurance information in the RIS
Maintain professionalism and empathy when interacting with patients
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Strong customer service skills required
Medical background required
Knowledge of human anatomy preferred
Strong computer skills required, including the ability to navigate multiple systems
3–6 months of call center experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Minimum of one year of related medical office experience preferred
Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, HMOs, and PPOs is a plus
