What are the responsibilities and job description for the Screen Printing Operator position at RADICAL COSMETICS, LLC?
The Silk Screen Operator sets up and runs screen printing machines to apply designs to cosmetics packaging (ie. bottles, lipstick tubes, compacts) in a variety of material (ie. glass, plastic and metals). Preparing screens and mixing inks, loading materials, monitoring the process, and performing quality checks. This role also involves equipment maintenance and cleaning, troubleshooting production issues, record keeping, and collaborating with other team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Setup and Operation:
- Prepare screens by stretching and coating them for each job.
- Expose images onto screens using an exposure machine.
- Mix inks and load them onto the printing press.
- Load materials (like fabric, plastic, or glass) onto the printing machine and secure them properly.
- Adjust machine settings and fixtures for accurate image placement.
Production and Quality Control:
- Operate the printing press to produce finished products.
- Perform quality checks throughout the printing process to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Inspect and remove any defective products.
- Monitor runs to ensure work meets client specifications and quality standards.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Clean screens and machines after use to maintain equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the work area.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues or problems that arise during production.
Material and Record Management:
- Manage inventory of inks and other printing supplies.
- Read work orders and job tickets to understand artwork placement and ink requirements.
- Keep accurate records of completed work and job history.
