Salary Range: $105K – $145K per year
Title: Sr Electrical Controls Engineer
Location: Concord, NC, 28026
Key Responsibilities
• Lead electrical engineering activities for installation, startup, commissioning, and modification of manufacturing equipment.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and timelines while maintaining safety and quality requirements.
• Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues on production equipment.
• Work with PLC, PC-based control systems, machine controls, analog/digital I/O, and control logic.
• Modify software programs used for process equipment control.
• Support development and integration of industrial control systems.
• Work with external system integrators and machine builders.
• Direct engineering technicians, maintenance personnel, and outside contractors.
• Review and modify electrical drawings, schematics, installation checklists, machine specifications, and documentation.
• Procure and expedite materials required for equipment installation.
• Evaluate existing equipment for compatibility with new installations.
• Redesign electrical components where necessary to reduce costs or resolve design issues.
• Provide technical training to technicians and contractors.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years of manufacturing or related engineering experience.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems up to 480VAC.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment.
• Ability to work hands-on with equipment, tools, instruments, and measurement devices.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing systems and equipment.
• Ability to collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, and IT teams.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Strong commitment to workplace and job-site safety.
Preferred / Desired Skills
• PLC and PC-based control systems.
• Beckhoff PLC / Motion Control.
• B&R PLC Control.

Travel Requirements
Travel is required. During the project initiation phase, travel may range from several days to several weeks. During deployment, travel may be full-time. Travel may include manufacturing sites in North Carolina and potentially international locations.
Work Environment & Schedule
• Primarily onsite in a manufacturing environment.
• Approximately 40 hours per week.
• Typical schedule is Monday through Friday.
• Adjusted working hours and weekends may be required depending on the project lifecycle.
• The position requires hands-on interaction with industrial equipment and may involve plant-floor activities.
