Facilities Technician
Position Purpose:
To ensure the Credit Union's building systems and equipment are functioning properly and are maintained in excellent condition. To provide assistance to the Facilities Manager to ensure the successful completion of Credit Union's facilities and maintenance needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform building maintenance as requested by branch and department staff including changing HVAC filters, replacing light bulbs, and checking/resetting tripped circuit breakers. Schedules with vendors and contractors to perform work as/when needed and follows up to ensure the need has been fulfilled. Ensure Credit Union systems and other building equipment are kept in proper working order and repaired when necessary.
- Work with various contractors and vendors to ensure projects and work are performed as expected and resolves problems and issues as needed.
- Manage facility and office supply inventories to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained. Process and coordinate supply orders in a timely and cost-effective manner. Maintain organized and accurate records of completed tasks.
- Assist Facilities Manager as needed for Credit Union facilities. Act as back up to Purchasing Coordinator. Conduct regular mail and delivery runs between company branches as needed.
- Communicate with managers regarding needed maintenance and repair of facilities; schedules visits with managers to performed scheduled maintenance and repair.
- Responsible for HVAC systems and other building equipment systems being kept in proper working order and repaired when necessary. Monitor and coordinate company vehicle maintenance, including routine service and inspections.
- Assist with general facility operations and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience, & Skills Required:
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills Good communication skills, both written and oral, as well as strong customer service skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. (If applicable.)
Physical Requirements Safely climb ladders and perform work at varying heights when required.
