Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Care Navigator to join our dynamic team. This multifaceted role combines patient care coordination, administrative support, and executive assistance across our growing network of interventional psychiatry practices. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care Navigation
- Implement and monitor HIPAA-compliant communication practices across all patient interactions
- Represent Radial with professionalism and ensure a positive patient experience at every touchpoint
- Conduct "Welcome Calls" with potential new patients to introduce services and answer
initial questions
- Manage comprehensive new patient onboarding processes, ensuring smooth transition into care
- Schedule clinical appointments primarily for our two New York offices and serve as
backup scheduling support for other locations including Myrtle Beach, SC
- Resolve patient inquiries including prescription refills, letters for school/work
accommodations, and various administrative requests
- Process patient copays, coinsurance and deductibles, as well as resolve patient queries
about these matters
Insurance and Authorization Management
- Complete prior authorizations for TMS, Spravato, and specialized medical devices
- Conduct benefits investigations and insurance verification for new and existing patients
- Coordinate with insurance providers to ensure patient coverage and access to care
- Maintain detailed documentation of all authorization and benefits verification activities
Administrative and Executive Support
- Assist with meeting scheduling for executive team, including both business-related and personal matters
- Coordinate communications between clinical staff, technology teams, and executive
leadership
- Handle general office duties as required to support daily operations
- Support special projects and initiatives related to practice growth and technology
integration
Work Schedule and Environment
This position requires a Tuesday-Saturday work schedule totaling 40 hours per week. The role is primarily in-person to ensure optimal patient care coordination and team collaboration, with potential flexibility for some hybrid work arrangements as the company evolves. Some overtime may be required during peak periods, system implementations, or to support urgent patient needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher in healthcare
administration or related field preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in healthcare administration, patient coordination, or
related customer service field
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with professional phone manner
- Demonstrated customer service excellence and ability to handle sensitive patient
situations
- Proficiency in standard office software and ability to learn healthcare-specific systems
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining accuracy and quality
- Flexibility to work Tuesday-Saturday schedule with occasional overtime as needed
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous healthcare experience in medical office, hospital, or clinical setting
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and electronic health record management
- Insurance and benefits verification experience, particularly with mental health
coverage
- Prior authorization experience for medical treatments or devices
- Familiarity with mental health or psychiatry practice operations
