Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations while providing care.
- Engage with clients who have specific needs such as dementia care or autism support.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or personal care is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with long-term care practices and home community care is an asset.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial.
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or autism is highly valued.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
