HS Supervisor - Substance Abuse (Residential)

Coordinate with the Clinical Director regarding the development, administration and operation of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programs and services. Assure that Behavioral Health Services (BHS) SUD programs and services are managed in accordance with state, federal and Racine County laws, rules and regulations.





Note: Salary range shown is different than hiring range
  • Manage daily, weekly, monthly SUD clinical audit functions and effectively provide feedback to SUD staff.
  • Working knowledge and experience with SUD residential, outpatient and prevention services; including DHS 75, Patient Rights, 42 CFR and all regulations governing the State of Wisconsin.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects.
  • Develop and maintain effective body of knowledge regarding BHS responsibilities to the community and consumers served.
  • Provide direct supervision and clinical supervision to BHS SUD residential and clinical staff.
  • Provide services in SUD residential, outpatient, SUD prevention, SUD Case Management and Intoxicated Driver Program as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Represent BHS in the community.
  • Coordinate with the BHS Medical Director for staffing.
  • Works with Racine County Treatment and Veterans Court to provide effective treatment for participants.
  • Provides oral and written communication that is appropriate to the task and in accordance with agency, DHS 75 and Medicaid standards. 
  • Make intervention and assessment decisions using "Best Practice" philosophy.
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement, families, other county departments, schools, acute care services providers, and other community resources to coordinate appropriate crisis resolution and referral. 
  • Communicate pertinent information on a timely basis and participate in clinical supervision case reviews, staffings and/or case planning meetings.
  • Complete all necessary health care/medical and financial record documentation required to maintain complete medical and financial billing records.
  • Provide crisis therapy when indicated (only appropriately credentialed staff).
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including responding to an emergency event.



Supervision Received: 

Receives supervision from the Clinical Director.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field required; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Five (5) years counseling experience.
  • Valid unrestricted CSAC and ICS (independent) in the State of Wisconsin required. Additional LCSW or LPC licensure preferred.
  • Ability to travel to various locations in Southeastern Wisconsin on agency business.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally using written, verbal or electronic formats.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license and automobile insurance are required.
  • Prompt and regular attendance.
  • Ability to establish a therapeutic relationship.
  • Ability to relate to highly diverse population.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to solve problems and negotiate solutions.
  • Knowledge of DHS 75 regulations.
  • Knowledge of evidence based practices.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to work well with treatment team and community members.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Interact with the public in a professional manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Technically proficient with basic Microsoft office products, internet browsing and EMR.
  • Must be able and willing to work evenings.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and walk up and down stairs required.

Salary : $80,080 - $112,112
