This role will own and lead the comprehensive strategy, design, and deployment of all training programs across our field operations and Store Support Center (SSC). You will lead a team of talented L&D professionals, partnering closely with senior leadership, Operations, and HR to cultivate a culture of continuous learning that directly translates into measurable business outcomes and a strong leadership pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
I. Training Strategy & Alignment
- Develop and Execute Strategy: Create and lead the holistic RaceTrac training strategy, ensuring alignment with company growth goals, operational priorities, and cultural values.
- Curriculum Leadership: Build and maintain comprehensive curriculum plans for every level of the organization (Associates, Shift Leaders, Managers, Directors, etc.), incorporating best practices and stakeholder input.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders, Field Operations, and HR to identify organizational capability gaps and define targeted training solutions that build professional development and organizational bench strength.
- Resource Management: Manage training priorities, budgets, resource allocation, and performance monitoring to ensure efficient use of resources and maximum impact.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and coach the instructional design team to create highly engaging and effective learning experiences across multiple modalities (eLearning, VILT, in-person, blended).
- Modern Design Focus: Drive the integration of modern instructional design methods, including microlearning, gamification, simulations, and scenario-based learning, ensuring training aligns with RaceTrac's brand and guest service culture.
- Performance Transfer: Ensure learning translates directly into on-the-job application and measurable performance improvement, driving consistency across the enterprise.
- Field Training Oversight: Lead and coach the implementation team, overseeing the successful execution of all training programs, including standardized New Store Opening (NSO) training.
- Partnership & Accountability: Collaborate with Regional Directors and operations leaders to ensure clear standards, support, and accountability for training execution in the field.
- Data-Driven Improvement: Utilize data, results, and performance metrics to evaluate program effectiveness, identify performance gaps, and continuously refine training content and delivery.
- Talent Pipeline: Assist in qualifying and developing high-potential leaders to strengthen the internal talent pipeline.
