Company Description
Rabbit Advocates is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of rabbits in the Portland Metro Area. As a fully volunteer-run organization, Rabbit Advocates plays a crucial role in providing care and finding loving homes for abandoned and neglected rabbits. The organization also seeks to educate the public about rabbit welfare and proper care. Joining Rabbit Advocates means contributing to a compassionate team focused on improving the lives of rabbits in the community.
Role Description
Board Members will participate in strategic planning, governance, and decision-making to guide and support the mission of Rabbit Advocates. Responsibilities include attending regular monthly board meetings, representing the organization within the community, assisting with fundraising and donor engagement, and contributing to policy development.
All Board meetings are virtual, but Board Members are strongly encouraged to attend in-person organization events.
Qualifications
- Commitment to animal advocacy and the mission of Rabbit Advocates
- Commitment to attend monthly Board meetings
- Leadership, governance, and strategic planning skills to provide oversight and direction for nonprofit operations
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with other board members and volunteers
- Knowledge of animal welfare, nonprofit operations, fundraising, or a background in volunteer management is a plus
